Afghanistan and Its Future: Perspectives of the Next Generation

The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination will convene a Liechtenstein Colloquium Seminar, “Afghanistan and Its Future: Perspectives of the Next Generation,” August 16-18, 2013 in Triesenberg, Liechtenstein. The seminar will convene young experts on Afghanistan, both domestic and international, to discuss issues related to the future of Afghanistan and to generate recommendations for sustainable solutions to some of the country's most pressing problems.

The seminar will focus on several broad issues areas: the state, economy, self-determination and identity, education, and employment. The agenda of the workshop was developed in consultation with the young scholars, experts, and professionals who have been invited to participate in LISD's new intergenerational, interdisciplinary, and multi-year project on Afghanistan and the region focusing on how a new generation of leaders can effectively address Afghanistan's new and long-standing challenges.
