The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination hosted a seminar discussion, "A French View on Afghanistan" on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with Colonel Benoît Durieux, Officer of the French Foreign Legion. The seminar focused on Durieux's analysis in "A French View of Counter-Insurgency in Afghanistan." 

A student at the Centre des Hautes Études Militaires (CHEM), the French National War College, Colonel Benoît Durieux, recently served as the commander of the 2nd Infantry Foreign Legion Regiment in Afghanistan where he applied counter-insurgency doctrine from a French perspective. Colonel Durieux holds a PhD in history from Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes and MA from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
