Masaru Tamamoto, Senior Fellow at the World Policy Institute, New School University, presented the lecture, “A Japan that Can Go to War: A Nightmare Scenario,” on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 in 016 Robertson Hall on the Princeton University campus. The lecture was co-sponsored by LISD and the Woodrow Wilson School. 

Masaru Tamamoto was born in Tokyo and educated in Japan, Switzerland, Egypt and the United States. He received his BA in international relations from Brown University and his MA and PhD from Johns Hopkins University. At Princeton, he was a MacArthur Foundation fellow in international peace and security (1988-89). He has taught at universities in Japan and the United States and has written numerous essays on Japanese national identity and international relations.
