Applications to become a member of the 2024-2025 cohort of International Policy Associates were due by 5:00 pm ET on Wednesday, March 20th. Applicants will be notified by April 19th.

The International Policy Associates (IPAs) initiative is a foreign policy centered program that strives to empower Princeton undergraduates interested in international affairs and careers in public service. It seeks to supplement research and coursework with experimental and practical learning through engagement with global practitioners in foreign policy, politics, international business, journalism, think tanks and non-governmental organization. By bringing world leaders and renowned academics on campus and visiting key global capitals and major U.S. cities, primarily during Fall Break and Wintersession, the program is designed to equip Princeton students with the necessary skills for the real world and give them a competitive advantage in their careers.

This academic year, the International Policy Associates have traveled to Paris and Berlin, Northern California and Washington D.C., where students have had a chance to meet and learn from world leaders across both private and public sectors. While on campus, the IPAs have supported the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination (LISD)’s extensive programming and have had the opportunity to meet with highly respected global leaders including former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, former Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson, former EU Commission President José Manuel Barroso and Microsoft’s President and Vice Chair Brad Smith.

For 2024-2025, we are planning a key visit to Europe during Fall Break and LISD’s first trip to Asia over Wintersession. Participation in at least one of these trips is mandatory, unless for medical reasons or a last-minute emergency. Athletic or extra-curricular commitments are not a valid reason for not participating in a trip. We look forward to welcoming current freshmen and sophomores to our next IPA cohort.

If you have any questions about the application process, please reach out to the program coordinator Jana-Alessa Peper and/or the IPA Ambassadors, Leighton Symons '25Luke Carroll '26 and Katya Hovnanian-Alexanian '25.
