LISD is honored to serve as institutional partner for the 2024 NATO Summit Public Forum that takes place in Washington, D.C., on July 10-11. LISD's Executive Director Nadia Crisan and International Policy Associate Maddie Feldman ’27 will be present at the Summit on behalf of the Institute. NATO and the U.S. Government are co-hosting the 2024 NATO Public Forum during the Washington Summit, in collaboration with the Atlantic Council, the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), GLOBSEC, German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), and the Hudson Institute. The Public Forum serves an important purpose to promote a better public understanding of NATO’s policies and goals and the key decisions to be adopted at this historic Summit in Washington, through dialogue and engagement with a unique and diverse group of stakeholders, from Heads of State and Government and Ministers, to international security experts, opinion formers, academics, journalists and young leaders, in a series of conversations, panel discussions and debates, and on various topics of utmost importance on NATO’s agenda.“LISD has had a long commitment to NATO’s mission and priorities, and for close to 25 years has convened the most respected scholars and policymakers to generate policy recommendations on various security challenges confronting the transatlantic alliance. Will Ukraine define the future of NATO, how do we strengthen the transatlantic bond while transforming European security, and what to expect from the axis of upheaval are just some of the questions we'll discuss at the NATO Summit Public Forum,” said Nadia Crisan, the Institute’s Executive Director. As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of NATO, this April, LISD co-hosted the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s Political Committee for a full day of briefings by our faculty and a public panel.
