The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination has hosted a seminar on Emerging Foreign and Security Dimensions. The seminar discusses emerging security challenges from strategic developments, inter-state and intra-state perspectives, self-determination, climate and environmental issues, to migration and leadership challenges in the region spanning from Vancouver to Vladivostok.

The Program on Religion, Diplomacy and International Relations (PORDIR), now in its twelfth year, has selected 18 Princeton University undergraduate and graduate students as 2018-19 student fellows. The fellows were selected through a competitive application process. In the latest LISD White Paper, "The Afghan Taliban's Relationship with Pakistan," Safi Khalilullah analyzes long-standing relationship between the Afghan Taliban and Pakistan, from the Taliban's origins as an anti-Communist uprising to its iterations under the leadership of Mullah Omar and following his death. The white paper was edited and translated by Joseph Mohr, and includes abstracts translated into German, Pashto, and Dari.
