The first Liechtenstein Colloquium on European and International Affairs, "Future Dimensions of European Security," took place on April 13-19, 1989 in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. The objective of this meeting was to bring together two generations of US and European specialists in international relations to analyze key issues related to European security. Sessions included: The Understanding of Deterrence and Security, How Much Conventional Deterrence for NATO?, European Nuclear Security, The Role of Arms Control, Implications of Changes in East-West Relations, Domestic Dilemmas of European Security, A New Security System for Europe?, European Economic Security, The Role of Neutrality, and European Security and Terrorism.
