Event Description

The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination will sponsor a high tea lecture and discussion, "The Future of the European Economic and Monetary Union," with Joaquín Almunia Amann, former Vice-President of the EU Commission, on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 4:30 p.m. in the Drawing Room of Prospect House. The session is open to Princeton University faculty and students only. To attend, RSVP to Angella Matheney.

Joaquín Almunia Amann is a Spanish politician and who has served in the European Commission. During his Commission tenure, he was European commissioner responsible for economic and monetary affairs (2004-2009) and, subsequently, Vice-President and the European Commission for Competition (2009-2014). Previously, he had been Spanish Minister for Employment (1982-1986) and Public Administrations (1986-1991).
