The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination will sponsor a high tea lecture and discussion, "Investment for Growth in Europe," with Jyrki Tapani Katainen, European Commission Vice-President for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, and former Prime Minister of Finland on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at 4:30 p.m. in the Library Room of Prospect House. The session is co-sponsored by the Program in Contemporary European Politics and Society and the European Union Program at Princeton. Jyrki Tapani Katainen is currently the European Commission Vice-President for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness. A member of the Finnish parliament from 1999-2014, Katainen served as Prime Minister of Finland from 2011-2014, and from 2007-2011 as Finland's Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. He received a Master's degree in political science from the University of Tampere in 1998.
