Event Description

The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination will sponsor a high tea lecture and discussion, "Investment for Growth in Europe," with Jyrki Tapani Katainen, European Commission Vice-President for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, and former Prime Minister of Finland on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at 4:30 p.m. in the Library Room of Prospect House. The session is co-sponsored by the Program in Contemporary European Politics and Society and the European Union Program at Princeton. The session is open to Princeton University faculty and students only. To attend, RSVP to Angella Matheney.

Jyrki Tapani Katainen is currently the European Commission Vice-President for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness. A member of the Finnish parliament from 1999-2014, Katainen served as Prime Minister of Finland from 2011-2014, and from 2007-2011 as Finland's Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. He received a Master's degree in political science from the University of Tampere in 1998.
