The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination held a Crisis Diplomacy lunch seminar on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. in 012 Bendheim Hall. Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, former Ambassador of Germany to the United States, was the featured speaker.
Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger was German Ambassador to the United States from 2001-2006 and Germany's Ambassador to the Court of St. James (the United Kingdom) from 2006-2008. He is now Chairman of the Munich Security Conference and Global Head of Government Relations, Allianz SE, Munich. Ischinger participated in a number of international negotiating processes, including the Bosnia Peace Talks at Dayton, OH, the negotiations concerning the NATO enlargement, and on the Kosovo crisis. Since 2011, Ischinger has also been Advisor to the Fair Observer on global politics and security topics. In 2008 he was awarded the Leo Baeck Medal for his humanitarian work in promoting tolerance and social justice.
