The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination will hold a Crisis Diplomacy lunch seminar on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 11:45 a.m. in the Presidential Dining Room of Prospect House. H.E. Dr. Khalid Mohamed Al Attiya, Foreign Minister of Qatar, will be the featured speaker for the session. Lunch will be served. To attend, RSVP to Angella Matheney (Princeton University ID required).

HE Dr. Attiyah was named minister of foreign affairs June 2013. In September 2011, Dr. Attiyah was appointed minister of state for foreign affairs to the cabinet led by then-Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani. Dr. Attiyah previously served as the minister of state for international cooperation from 2008 to 2011, as well as acting minister for business and trade. In 2009, he became a member of Silatech’s board of trustees and has been a member of the board of directors of Qatar electricity and water company. Dr. Al Attiyah began his career as fighter pilot and joined Qatar's air force where he served from 1987 to 1995. He left the air force and established a law firm 1995. From 2003 to 2008 he served as the president of Qatar's national committee for human rights.
