The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination at Princeton University will convene a conference, “Religion, Values, and Spirituality: The Impact on Diplomacy and Security,” June 5-7, 2017 in Vienna Austria. The objective of the conference is to enable direct contacts and exchange of opinions between representatives of all faiths and religions, including agnostics and atheists, from a variety of generational perspectives, to discuss the influence of religion, values, and spirituality on peace and security in the current political and strategic environment and in a post-truth setting, with the powerful role of social media and non-state actors.
This seminar will be the first in a series of meetings intended to deepen the understanding of the confluence of these issues, thus offering opportunity for re-establishing personal direct exchange, trust and confidence, foster connectivity, and understanding and peace. All discussions at this meeting will be off the record, and participation is by invitation only.
