Event Description

The Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination's Project on Gender in the Global Community will hold a lunch seminar on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. in 012 Bendheim Hall. Haifa Fahoum Al Kaylani, founder and chairwoman of the Arab International Women’s Forum, will discuss "The Role of Women in Sustainable Development in the Arab World." Haifa Fahoum Al Kaylani is well known in international government and business circles as a high-impact change agent focusing on leadership in cultural and gender issues. An economist and graduate of the American University of Beirut and Oxford University, she brings a wide range of skills and experience to her personal mission of encouraging greater cultural understanding between Arab and international communities and supporting a strong role for women in that process. Al Kaylani holds senior roles in several cultural and educational UK and international organizations. She has several awards and has received global recognition for her work as a business leader and as a role model for Arab women and women in emerging countries. She was the recipient of the Global Inspirational Leadership Award 2013.

The Arab International Women‘s Forum (AIWF) was established in 2001 as an independent not for profit organization that serves as the voice of Arab women, showcasing their development, ability and competence in business, professional and public life, creating greater global awareness of women’s success and prospects in the Arab world.
