Bio/Description

Ferenc Nicolae Somogyi, from Cleveland, Ohio, is a second-year undergraduate. He plans to concentrate in the School of Public and International Affairs and acquire certificates in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies, Contemporary European Politics and Society, and History and the Practice of Diplomacy. Ferenc is Hungarian and Romanian (an active member of both diaspora communities) and fluent in both languages. His interests are in European security and Central Europe, especially Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, ethnic minorities, religious and cultural pluralism, and the influence of science and technology on society. At LISD, Ferenc is a student project coordinator of the European Security Architecture project and a member of the Ukraine Crisis Compendium core team.
