Bio/Description

Luke Carroll is a senior from Newton, Massachusetts, studying History with a minor in English. He has served as an Ambassador for the International Policy Associates Program for two consecutive years. This summer, he worked as a Summer Analyst for the Goldman Sachs Global Institute, a unit dedicated to geopolitical analysis and advising within the firm. Luke’s academic work focuses on the legal history of the American Revolutionary era. His most recent department-funded independent work has focused on property law in colonial Maine and the law of mechanics’ liens in the early republic. His thesis will concern debates surrounding the Constitution’s ratification. Luke is interested in international law and has earned research grants to study U.S. national security law, legislative procedure in Chile, and third-party litigation funding in the United Kingdom. On campus, Luke is the founder of a law society, a research assistant to the University president, and an Orange Key tour guide. In his free time, Luke enjoys playing hockey, squash, running, and woodcarving. Luke speaks Spanish fluently and can recite some Middle English.
