Bio/Description

Marko Ingjilizov, originally from Veles, Macedonia, is a junior majoring in the School of Public and International Affairs, with minors in African Studies, Italian, and Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies. He spent his formative years in Tanzania and is passionate about strengthening democratic institutions and building intercontinental connections through diplomacy and youth engagement. This past summer, Marko was part of a Princeton Task Force that worked in Geneva with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, evaluating the U.S. criminal justice system. Previously, Marko participated in summer programs at the University of Tokyo and Peking University. His research focuses on judicial reform, human rights, and the rule of law in Africa and Europe. He is a contributing researcher to the Our Rule of Law Foundation, a 2024 European Charlemagne Youth Prize laureate, and its 2025 “Our Democracy” Project. On campus, Marko is a member of the Macedonian Society, a Residential College Advisor at Yeh College, a lead researcher with the Religion and Forced Migration Initiative, a Barista at Coffee Club, an Outdoor Action Leader, and an Orange Key Tour Guide. He speaks Macedonian, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, Italian, and is studying Swahili and German.
