Bio/Description

Sam Harshbarger is a senior in the History Department, where his work has focused on transnational links between Azerbaijan and Israel/Palestine and between Turkey and Malaysia. Additionally, Sam is a research assistant at the think tank Foreign Policy Research Institute, where he works on the evolution of Turkish foreign policy in the past two decades, and the Washington, D.C., think tank New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy, where he has researched U.S.-Uzbekistan relations and the post-withdrawal dynamics of Russia’s setbacks in Ukraine. He previously worked at Evergreen Strategy Group, analyzing media and congressional statements on policy areas relevant to corporate clients, and the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (Rondeli Foundation). He speaks Azerbaijani, Russian, Spanish and Turkish and is learning French.
