Theodore (Teddy) Bhatia is a junior from Washington, D.C., in the School of Public and International Affairs, pursuing certificates in Latin American Studies and Language and Culture in Spanish and Portuguese. After volunteering for Polish Humanitarian Action on the Ukraine border, he is interested in issues regarding human rights and immigration. He is passionate about education policy and optimizing the relationship between nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and governments after spending time in Guatemala as a certified teaching English as a foreign language teacher and working for an educational NGO in São Paulo. On campus, Teddy tutors Spanish as the undergraduate course assistant for the Spanish Department and plays for the Men’s Club Soccer team. Teddy is interested in the relationship between NGOs and governments, education policy, human rights law and democratic governance in Latin America.
