Bio/Description

Uma Fox is a junior studying History with minors in South Asian Studies and Journalism. She is primarily interested in international law, with an emphasis on historical and contemporary human rights approaches. Her time spent living, researching, and studying in both Hong Kong and India have left her particularly passionate about legal and political affairs in the Indo-Pacific region. This past summer, Uma conducted independent oral history research on gendered human rights experiences in Northern India and interned at the Department of Justice’s Human Rights and Special Prosecutions Section as a Princeton Dean’s Scholar in the Nation's Service (SINSI). She previously worked as an intern for Congressman Jamie Raskin and researched post-conflict democracy development with the National Forum for Colombia in Bogotá,. At Princeton, Uma serves as the Treasurer of the Undergraduate Student Government and works as a research assistant with LISD studying foreign policy responses to Afghanistan’s Taliban government. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and Hindi and is learning Punjabi.
