Bio/Description

Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Zhenia Khalabadzhakh is a sophomore in the School of Public and International Affairs pursuing a certificate in Translation and Intercultural Communication. Her academic and career interests are related to Eastern Europe and European integration, self-determination, language policy, gender-related issues, and cultural and educational diplomacy. Most recently, she interned at the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations, focusing on issues related to human rights, conflict-related sexual violence, and children in armed conflict. Zhenia leads the Princeton Ukrainian Society and is a student assistant at Princeton University Library Slavic Collections. Zhenia is an avid language learner and proficient in 5 languages. She works with multiple Ukrainian nonprofit and volunteer organizations. Zhenia is interested in Ukraine’s European integration and post-war rebuilding and recovery.
